Mechanical Maintenance was started by Robert Wilson in 1971. Robert Wilson was one of the first African Americans to obtain a Warm Air License which was presented by then Mayor of Atlanta Maynard Jackson. The company was passed on to his son Eric Wilson in 1998 and he currently is the owner of the company. Mechanical Maintenance takes pride in serving its local governments. The company currently holds contracts with The City of Atlanta, Fulton County & Clayton County. They also are elite service providers for the top two ice machines manufacturers in the USA Ice-O-Matic and Scotsman. Mechanical Maintenance continues to be one of the #1 Commercial Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Commercial Appliance service, repair and installation small businesses serving the Metro Atlanta.
In 2022 Mechanical Maintenance started a community initiative program partnering with local trade schools and hiring at least one recently graduated technician a year. In addition Mechanical Maintenance has a scholarship program named after the founder. The Robert Wilson Scholarship awards $1,000 to a HVAC student's tuition. Mechanical Maintenance takes pride in continuing to grow this industry in and around the Atlanta community.
